The city of Ferozepur was founded during the times of Mughal Emperor Ferozeshah Tughlak ( 1351-1387), who had built two historic buildings, Tomb of Muslim Saint popularly known as Noor Shah Wali and a fort which still exists. There is another story that Moran, a celebrated courtsan in the court of Maharaja Ranjit Singh at Lahore had requested him for the grant of Ferozepur and the Maharaja accepted her request and handed over Ferozepur to her. Later city of Ferozepur was being ruled by Rani Lachhman Kaur wife of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, who died in December 1835. She had adopted Bishan Singh her heir, but her claim to inherit was rejected by the British ruler and Ferozepur lapsed to the British Government as one of the protected states. Thus Ferozepur was converted into Military Cantonment during1838 and its population at that time was only 2732.

Veteran Arya Samajist Saint Swami Daya Nand during 1857, had set up Arya Orphanage here and Railway line Ferozepur to Lahore over river Satluj was opened during 1886.

Ferozepur is known for the historic Samadhi of three great national martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, situated on the bank of River Satluj at Hussaniwala. The British Government had executed the three great young patriots and cremated them on March 23,1931 which is worshiped by the Nation by holding National Shaheedi Conference every year.

School of Nursing, Anil Baghi Hospitals and Research center was named in the memory of a budding doctor who was untimely snatched away from us at the alter of death for the love and unity of nation. It would be our homage to his great & pious soul if we could kindle only with this basis in mind to prepare students who would be full of knowledge, love & sympathy to impart their fellow beings. This is the need of this hour in our nation today.

SCHOOL OF NURSING, ANIL BAGHI HOSPITAL, FEROZEPUR CITY IS REGULARLY IMPARTING DIPLOMA COURSE IN GENERAL NURSING AND MIDWIFERY COMBINED FOR A THREE YEARS AND SIX MONTHS DURATION WITH ANNUAL INTAKE OF 60 SEATS.

Its parent body shaheed Anil Baghi charitable Society, Ferozepur city is also running Genesis Institute of Dental Sciences and research, dental college and hospital with annual intake of 100 seats in Ferozepur. The GIDSR ( Dental College ) has also signed up an M.O.U with Boston university, USA for educational exchange programmes and research work. The up coming projects of Shaheed Anil Baghi charitable society includes a Medical College with annual intake of 150 seats, a Dental College with annual intake of 100 seats and a College of Nursing with annual intake of 60 seats, which are to be started by the year 2010-11.
